His multifaceted roles range from being a resourceful mentor and an excellent coach for students, teachers & corporates in the arena of Dramatics, Personality & Communication Skills enhancement, Thought Leader for Developmental Drama, an established Entrepreneur, Playwright, Producer, Director & Actor for Theatre, a trained exponent Bharatanatyam dancer & a Fashion Designer.
Alchemy – South India’s 1st Professional School for Acting & Modelling, Alchemy Kids Theatre, Alchemy Youth Theatre, Alchemy Theatres – Theatre & Film Production House, Alchemy Buzz – E-magazine, Alchemy Black Box Studio – A Liberated Performing Space are the divisions passionately curated by Vijay.
Under the able guidance of Vijay, Alchemy Kids Theatre has established its presence in over 22 schools across South India and centres across K K Nagar & Anna Nagar in Chennai. Alchemy has also gained the status of being The Registered Examination Centre for Trinity College of London.
Having been a performer of dance for over 20 years and a theatre professional, he shares his wide experience with amateur students as well as teacher trainers through his long & short term workshops, certificate courses & diploma courses. He works closely with the corporates in training their staff for effective communication skills through a creative workshop titled EXPRESSIONS, which is developed on the foundation of drama. Vijay has till date written and directed over 25 plays both in English and Tamil.
Vijay has an ATCL Diploma in Theatre from Trinity College of London, a CIDTT qualification from Cambridge University, Advanced Certificate in Fashion Illustration & Pattern Making from NIFT – National Institute of Fashion Technology, Batchelor of Physics, over a decade of training in Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Padma Bhushan Guru Smt. & Shri. V.P Dhananjayan.
It is not a job seeking mission, nor money making objective. It definitely is something about chasing a dream. With the given academic background and the carefully acquired skills over the years, the dream project is to bring into existence a unique institution that fosters the development of upcoming theatre & performing artistes of future India. At an early stage of skill development, the school should play a very important role in making the student realize his/her inner strengths. This should be done in an environment of rare and enlightened resources supported by infra structural marvels in a great ambience. With this idea of a dream project he has embarked on a passionate journey.
